Condolence Letter – Zhang Qiuping Former Secretary General IWUF

It is with deep sorrow that I learned of the passing of our esteemed colleague
and dear friend, Mr. Walt Missingham, Vice President of the International
Wushu Federation (IWUF) and Chairman of the IWUF Ethics Committee. In my
personal name, I extend my heartfelt condolences to Walt’s family, friends, and
all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As the former Secretary-General of the IWUF, I had the honor of working closely
with Walt on the IWUF Executive Board since November 2019. In his role as
Chairman of the Ethics Committee, he displayed exceptional dedication and
professionalism, playing a pivotal role in developing the federation’s ethical
framework and spearheading the launch of its inaugural Ethics Code.
Walt’s contributions were instrumental in resolving complex challenges, most
notably the dispute within the European Wushu Federation since 2020. His
meticulous review of countless documents and steadfast commitment to
fairness ensured a just and successful resolution. His tireless efforts and
unwavering integrity have left an indelible mark on the global development of
wushu.
Walt’s passing is an immeasurable loss to our community. His leadership,
wisdom, and friendship will be profoundly missed. May his legacy continue to
inspire us all.

With deepest sympathy,
Zhang Qiuping
Former Secretary General
International Wushu Federation (IWUF)
