Statement on the Presidency of the Oceania Kung Fu Wushu Federation

STATEMENT ON THE PRESIDENCY OF THE OCEANIA KUNG FU WUSHU FEDERATION

This formal Statement is made to remove any doubt about the Presidency of the Oceania Kung Fu Wushu Federation (OKWF).

With great regret, OKWF announced the death of President Mr Walt Missingham, who had done so much for the federation and its members.

With Mr Missingham’s death, the Board of OKWF consisted of only two members.

The OKWF Constitution requires a minimum of 3 Directors on its Board (Clause 11.1.1), and the Board met as a matter of urgency, on 2 May 2025, to ensure consistency with this requirement.

A third Director was appointed, under Clauses 11.5.1(a) and 11.5.4 of the Constitution. These Clauses, with Clause 11.1.1, gave the Board little option in how to ensure it is operating in accord with the Constitution.

Mr Shao Zhao Ming was appointed as the third Director. OKWF notes that this was in accord with the strong recommendation of Mr Missingham.

The Board now consisted of three Directors, which required a new President. Mr Shao was the only one of the three Directors who was nominated for the position of President, and thus was the only Candidate eligible for election. Mr Shao accepted his nomination, and was duly elected as our new President.

As OKWF is based in Australia, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission was duly advised of the composition of the new Board.
